“I took the Buffoon workshop to partake in more of this journey called creative expression. It refined the floodgates of my creative process and gave me permission to believe in myself and all I can do. I enjoyed it immensely and am grateful to you for your encouragement, energy and ability to create a safe and magical space. Thanks Trilby.” Taylor Stutchbury, Vancouver, Canada

“Discovering my inner Buffoon through working with Trilby Jeeves continues to inspire my work as a comic improviser. If you live to laugh or laugh to live, you gotta’ get your Buffoon on!” Kevin L. Smith, Vancouver, Canada

“I enjoyed the workshop very much! It really pushed me to experiment and try things I wouldn’t normally do – in other words, take risks. My monologue had gone flat and “planned” until our session, when I felt really connected. Making fun of the troubled character and exaggerating it to the point of absurdity drew me in to all the complexities of that lonely guy.” Ian Batt, Vancouver, Canada

“Doing the workshop reinforced for me that acting is being. Out of my head, and into my body. Thank you Trilby for your guidance, and courage to help us all bring out each of our inner buffoons! To do this workshop you really need an empty mind, and an open heart!” Scott Perrie, Vancouver, Canada

“Thank you so much – it really helped me find the character and just be.” Kari-Ann Wood, Vancouver, Canada

“The Buffoonery Workshop was an eye opening acting experience, an awakening spirit of improvement in my acting ability. As an instructor, Trilby Jeeves is honest, compassionate, focused and direct. She dares the actor to go beyond compromise. She, then, through buffoonery deconstructs your acting preconceptions and helps you find that safe place in which to explore.” Dane B. McFadhen , Vancouver, Canada

“Buffooning: taught by Trilby is one of the most innovative methods of layering any actor’s character. It is a must for any serious actor who wishes to further hone their craft and honour themselves as both a person and an actor. SOOOO MUCH FUN!” Charlene Luedke, Vancouver, Canada

“Thank-you Trilby for teaching me how to be a great buffoon!I had such a fabulous time learning how to let go. I went through an amazing journey of discovery in your class.Finding my buffoon has brought me closer to myself and in turn will help me connect to others and find the truth in my work. For that I am forever grateful!” Jen Clarke, Vancouver, Canada

“Buffooning with Trilby Jeeves brought me up close and personal with the historic character I was writing and performing. Prior to buffooning, I now realize I was merely covering events in the story like it was so much data. The journey to finding my buffoon connected me with Anne emotionally, physically and intellectually, on a level I hadn’t before experienced. My writing now has a clearer purpose and I know instinctively which motifs and storylines to connect and enhance. In fact, this piece, Anne Thomas, has moved to become a monologue, because the character is so strong. Thanks, Trilby.” Patty Holmes, Vancouver, Canada

“WOW, WOW, BRAVO! What an experience that was! Thanks.” Francois Milly, Vancouver, Canada

“I was looking for something that would shake up my acting and take it one step further and this has done the trick. This will resonate with me for a while and I can’t wait to take all my newfound tools out into the world and let them loose on my work and see what shakes out. More play, less think!” Sheryl Thompson, Vancouver, Canada

“For me, the Buffoon workshop was a huge awakening to bringing my whole being to the work that I do as an actor. Buffoonery opens the door for you to reach the heights in your performance in every direction and through that world, emerges a vibrant and generous expression of yourself.

Trilby is an energetic, passionate and intuitive teacher who creates a space of playful exploration and possibility for her students. It was such fun and a whole new dimension to building a character. Just let yourself!” Ashley Rose, Vancouver, Canada

“I never thought I could change so much in one weekend, both as an actor and as a human being!! You woke up the 6 year old that has always lived deep within me and reminded us all that it’s ok to be silly, let loose and play!! I think one of my fellow buffoons said it best, you just have to ‘let it go and let it flow.’ Thank you, thank you, thank you a million times over!!!” Emily Kindred, Vancouver, Canada

“I have felt that in my 73rd year I’ve been slowing down but your class somehow reached inside my body and let me play and mime freely with no worry or criticism which was a gift that I have needed. Over the two days I felt at least 10 years younger!!

I thought the class members were outstanding in their willingness to play and express themselves and really give to the audience. I was honoured to be part of this extraordinary group.” Maggie Shore, Vancouver, Canada

“The Buffoonery Workshop brought back for me the joy of being an actor. The discoveries and surprises I made about myself, and that I saw in the other actors were pure gold. It was intense and exhausting to “buffoon” for 2 whole days, but utterly rewarding. I learnt a lot and feel ready to jump back out to the actor’s world with a renewed enthusiasm and vision, and humour. Thanks Trilby.” Fiona Martinelli, Vancouver, Canada

“I didn’t think! Finally, I didn’t think! This weekend I stuffed my pants with fluff and tied ribbons all over my arms. My bouffon was full of human positivism and openness- something I am working through, and am, myself. Playing and laughing really does work, and I found something that answered to my heart and gut this weekend. Thanks!” Kristen Barker, Victoria, Canada

“Participating in Trilby Jeeves’ Buffoonery Workshop is probably the wisest thing I have done in all my years to help me in my acting aspirations. An awesome experience, an awesome revelation and an awesome leader. I discovered so many things about myself that I never knew existed. I am vitalized and enthusiastic.

This Buffoonery workshop will benefit anyone, not just actors and entertainers. I feel like I have a new lease on life. FABULOUS!!” Vance McFadyen, New Westminster, Canada

“BRILLIANT BUFFONERY…
Over the course of the weekend I was opened up to my inner child, my creative artist, and re-awakened to my love of acting. Shortly after the course, I had intense auditions in New York, but had no reason to fear.

With Penelope Pumpkin Patch my new best buffoon friend I managed to not only make fun of my nerves in the auditions, but also make fun of all those silly serious people I was auditioning against. With determination and a sense of excitement and fun I soared through a whirlwind week in New York. I was accepted into all the programs I auditioned for and am off to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London!

Without Trilby’s expertise and Penelope’s joy I would not be off to London to follow my dreams. Just goes to show a little fun and a little love can go a long way:)” Ashley Whillans, Vancouver, Canada

“At a time when I was extremely frustrated with my creative work, this workshop (&Trilby) came along and reminded me why I love to do this, how much fun, and gratifying it can be to discover a character and to play!” Veenu Sandhu, Vancouver, Canada

“I really had a blast, and the more I got into it the more I enjoyed it. There was certainly a gradual easing into the various levels of buffoonery over the two days, which helped me take the baby step sized risks first and allowed to make even bigger commitments later.

Certainly there was internal resistance initially, but participating in the comfortable environment your workshop provides, has definitely given me new hope. It has left me with confidence and a life changing memory, which will ground me when I need it. Everyone was terrific and I miss you all!!

Trilby, thank you for your encouragement, your understanding and insight!! Your workshop was worth every penny!! The only regret was that it did not last a little longer! Thank YOU!!!” Tony Frei, Vancouver, Canada

“Good luck on future classes, it was interesting to get the film perspective from you and the students – not something I have much experience in and it is always neat to see how trainings intersect.” Emily Pearlman, Vancouver, Canada
