Interesting techniques to turn a beautiful woman I know into a cruel, damaged queen. I hope there will be a way for me to see what I'm sure will be a spectacular performance! Break a leg and most of all have fun!!

Thanks for your feedback, Nathan. I think you have a good point. Conviction in leaders is paramount, but what if conviction lay in simpler gestures, too. What if you are a barista and quite proud of making the perfect cup of coffee and your conviction of the pleasure you can influence is strong? And, yes... I think in that sense it is very close to passion, as you stated. Could there be team conviction? Common passion? I think so.. not always possible, maybe ideal... but, still possible.

Conviction in this sense is very similar to passion, which is definitely the #1 trait for success. Conviction however may not be desirable for all employees, other than leaders as it may hinder projects in which teams and collaboration is involved if everyone is firm in their beliefs. Team members need to be open to other ideas. Passion, not conviction I think is the important trait for team members - conviction is what you see in leaders.

Thanks Mimi... it's pretty interesting that play doesn't get taken seriously! The movement is on to make those toilet & maintenance people have some fun! (betcha they'd do even better work if they were enjoying their day at work, too!) Thanks again for giving us your experience.

I have the good fortune that my job requires me to play. As a park interpreter, educating the park visitors involves fun. Costumes, puppets, plays, crafts and more. I get paid to hike and canoe, create scavenger hunts and hide geocaches. Many people appreciate what I do, but I find that because we 'play' in our jobs and laugh a lot duirng our work day, management doesn't necessarily take us seriously and the interpretive program is considerred less important than maintenance and the toilet cleaners. I love my job and really don't want to do anything else since I believe education through entertainment is the best way to learn. I'm serious!
